Abstract
Papers of Hugh Mahoney including correspondence, accounts, certificates, a diary, map and sketches. Hugh Mahoney was a timber-getter and tobacco planter who owned land on the Albert River at Canungra.
Scope and content
This collection contains the papers of Hugh Mahoney including: his death certificate; accounts and letters about South Sea Islander labourers; letters and accounts about the tobacco and timber industry; receipts for payment of goods; letters from Walter Hill, director of the Brisbane Botanical Gardens, about samples of tobacco for exhibition; news cuttings about Cedar Creek pioneers Jesse and Charlotte Daniels; pencil sketches; diary 1869-1870; employee register of Polynesian labourers [blank]; and an application to lease adjoining lands.
