Abstract
The collection consists of oral history interviews about architecture and architectural practice and training in post-war Queensland (1945-1975) which were compiled as part of the Australian Research Council (ARC) funded project (2011-2015), Hot Modernism; an exhibition, book and digital archive, by the University of Queensland School of Architecture in partnership with the State Library of Queensland. Prominent Queensland architects share their stories and recollections in recordings of digital histories that form an invaluable reference and offer fascinating insights into this vital and formative part of Queensland’s history and development. Hot Modernism focused on the era of post-war development in Queensland, when fresh design ideas took hold and changed the architectural landscape of the state.
