Series 1: Diary (1912-1913)
This series consists of one leather-bound personal diary of Charles Pound, which records his visit to America in company with P. Cowley, District Supervising Stock Inspector and P.B. Chauvel, to study the prevalence of tick in that country. At this time Charles Pound was the Government Bacteriologist at the Yeerongpilly Stock Experiment Station.
The diary includes loose notes, newspaper cuttings and memoranda. Pound records his voyage from Sydney aboard RMS Zealandia in June, and visited Toronto, Canada, New York, and on to many properties in Atlanta, Louisiana, and Texas and attending the International Congress Chambers of Commerce, Washington in October. They left New York aboard RMS Carmania, stopping in England for several weeks before arriving home in early January 1913.

This collection of photographs includes images of the Yeerongpilly Stock Experiment Station, mounted reproductions for display including one dated May 1890, of the construction of the Kuranda Scenic Railway, North Queensland; Charles Pound in a buggy enroute to the 'Leper Station, North Stradbroke Island' (Minjerribah).
Also included is:
- a reprinted and mounted group of four images, captioned, which include Townsville racecourse; flying foxes at Baffle Creek; and 'Old Sarah the only surviving Aboriginal of Wynnum, 1900"
- a copyprint of a studio portrait of Aboriginal man 'Cumjam' capitioned: "murdered Fergusson at Mentana March 1894". The original photograph was taken by Alphonse Chargois, of Cumjam posed, chained, in front of a government issue tent. Cumjam was arrested for the murder of Mr Ferguson (aged 60) who worked for Donald Mclntyre at Mentana Station.
