Oral histories from members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community.
Scope and content

These recordings are the product of the Queensland Association of Healthy Communities, Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender (LGBT) History Action Group, Oral History Project, funded by the Brisbane City Council. Community members were trained as part of the project. A range of gay and lesbian people were interviewed including people that have been active at various times in the last 40 years to change the political and social conditions for LGBT people in Queensland. The objectives of oral history project are to build and increase access to a permanent record of LGBT history in Brisbane, to increase the wider community's knowledge and understanding of LGBT history in Brisbane, to increase LGBT people's sense of community history and identity, to develop links between LGBT groups, businesses and individuals and to develop a sense of responsibility in LGBT communities re researching and documenting their histories.
