Contains an enormous amount of local news, and much criticism of Sir Thomas McIlwraith and his unfulfilled promises, including dredging the harbour, plus a costume-by-costume account of the fancy dress ball, and a column on the aims of the new newspaper.

Palmer, President. Apart from the enormous botanical detail, the report includes a description of the new building to serve as a Museum of Economic Botany and Library of Botanical Reference, Board Room and Office. There is also a long list of plants received from foreign and home correspondents. Elaborately printed address, in purple and bright red within a bright red border surrounded with a purple printer’s ornament border, on cream silk, with appliqued border of gold braid, attached to a turned wooden scroll, decorated with gold tassels, with blue silk cord for hanging on wall; heavy gold fringe at lower edge. Backed with pink oiled cloth.

Certificate presented to Sir Anthony Musgrave by miners and mine-owners on the occasion of a visit by him to Charters Towers, Queensland. A single sheet with lettering in black and decoration in gold, signed by six of the miners and mine-owners.
