Northern Command Band, Regular Army band Brisbane. Original 1949 formation. This photo was taken in 1950 or 1951 at the Royal Easter Show. Includes Bob Rignold (Bandmaster), Les Roberts, Harry ? (Drum Major), Bob Stewart, Colin Thomas, Bob ? (baritone and Librarian), Cliff Nichols (7th original member, transferred from eastern Command Band, Sydney).

Pipers and drummers of 8/9th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment, and bandsmen of the Band of the 1st Military District combined for the annual public performance of the Beating of the Retreat ceremony in Brisbane on November 25th. The ceremony was presented in Brisbane's City Square before a large crowd of dignitaries and homegoing workers.
