Abstract
Material relating to Charles and Elsa Chauvel, in particular material from the movies Charles Chauvel directed.
Scope and content
Newspaper clippings, personal papers, photographs, negatives, glass plates, posters and brochures relating to the lives and careers of Charles and Elsa Chauvel. Includes material relating to the Chauvel films, "Moth of Moonbi" 1925, "Greenhide" 1926, "In the Wake of the Bounty" 1932, "Heritage" 1935, "Uncivilised" 1936, "Forty Thousand Horsemen" 1937, "Rats of Tobruk" 1944, "Sons of Matthew" 1949, and "Jedda" 1955. There is also material relating to their television series "Walkabout". Parts of the film "The Moth of Moonbi" was filmed on a property 'AVOCA', north of Linville in the Upper Brisbane River Valley.
