Administrative / Biographical history
Alexander Love was one of five children born to Holger Neilson Lovf, 1890-1967 and Lesley Jane Love (nee Clarke). The family name was later changed by deed poll to Love. Holger Lovf was a draftsman with the Department of Survey in Brisbane; he was also a talented artist known for his sketches and cartoons, and at one time employed by the 'Brisbane Courier'. Lesley Jane Clark, 1886-1955 (later Love) also exhibited a number of works with the Queensland Art Society, and was for a time a member of QAS committee.
