Scope and content
The collection details the impact of mining on communities in Central Queensland (including Middlemount, Monto, Moranbah and Quilpie). The images document mining operations of coal seam gas, coal and opal exploration, along with the social responses to these industries. A selection of these photographs were included in the exhibition 'The Central Queensland Project' at the Brisbane Powerhouse 23 July - 18 August 2013.

Kelly Hussey-Smith and Alan Hill are internationally recognized documentary photographers. Works include the artists' book "Discover our spirit" a photographic exploration of Bundaberg and the surrounding district.
