This album contains mainly family photos, at the family home at 'Ashley' Riverview Terrace, Indooroopilly, and on travels, and photographs of various Brisbane locations (especially Indooroopilly), and also includes photographs from the visit of Edward, Prince of Wales to Australia in 1920. Many photographs have captions.
Photographs taken during war-time include servicemen known to the Caldwell family: Richard Keen, members of the Homer family; troops at the Drayton railway station; volunteers at the Red Cross kitchen, Brisbane; Stanley McDonald; and interiors of the Queensland Artificial Limb Factory, Rosemount Military Hospital.

This photograph album most likely relates to Myee 'Kathleen' Caldwell, a nurse, who qualified in obstetrics and gynaecology at Womens Hospital Melbourne, held several positions in Victoria, NSW and Queensland before accepting the position of matron at St Helen's Private Hospital, South Brisbane.
During the Second World War Kathleen Caldwell was granted two-and-a-half years' leave of absence to become principal Matron of Northern Command she later retired in 1954.

Handwritten on back "Don Sisley & Mahoney's". Donald Sisley was a friend of the Cardwell family, and served with 5th Field Ambulance during the First World War.
