The wages ledgers for the North Australian Pastoral Company (NAPCO) provide information on those employed at Alexandria Station, Gallipoli Station, Soudan Station, Glenormiston Station, Monkira Station, Coorabulka Station, Islay Plains Station, Marion Downs Station.
The wages ledgers also include a section labelled 'Blacks' which refers to the Aboriginal people employed by the NAPCO. This section includes information about which station an individual worked at and their occupation. Historically, Aboriginal people played a major role in the success of cattle stations. Aboriginal stockmen and stockwomen were employed. Aboriginal women were also employed as domestics. Several Aboriginal groups lived and cared for the land where Alexandria and various out-stations would later be established, including the Wanji, Indilandji, Wambaia, Kunindiri and Jaroinga peoples.

This series contains material relating to the Alexandria Station (previously Alexandria Downs Station) of the North Australian Pastoral Company (NAPCo). This includes cashbooks, cattle returns, records relating to bores, meeting minutes, journals, financial records, and ledgers.
First leased in 1877, Alexandria Station is the most significant of the NAPCo's properties. Due to the size of the property, NAPCo established the Gallipoli and Soudan outstations (Information taken from: M Kowald, You still can't make it rain : The Northern Australian Pastoral Company 1877-2019, 2019). This series contains material relating to the Coorabulka Station of the North Australian Pastoral Company (NAPCo). This includes ledgers, records relating to bores, and stock returns.
In the early twentieth-century, Coorabulka was purchased by the Monkira Pastoral Company, which then amalgamated with NAPCo in 1939.
