Administrative / Biographical history

The Cherbourg Conversations project is a collection of eleven interviews by Ben Foley, each approximately one hour long with people from Cherbourg in south east Queensland. The interviews were conducted as a part of the Cherbourg Conversations project which was commissioned by the State Library of Queensland and aimed to encourage discussion of Aboriginal languages amongst people in Cherbourg, with the intention of hearing about people's attitudes towards language, and to ascertain levels of support for future language projects. The conversations involved a range of people who talked about their current and past time in Cherbourg as well as support and approaches for future language projects.
