The properties which were located on the traditional lands of the Dharawal people, fronted the Nepean River and were intersected by Narellan Creek and the Camden to Liverpool Road. His immediate neighbours to the west were Rowland Hassall of 'Macquarie Grove' and William Cowper of 'Wivenhoe'; to the north Edward Lord of 'Orielton; George Molle of 'Molle's Main'; and to the east William Howe of 'Glenlee'.

The five-bedroomed property with stables, was known to be extensively furnished, it also housed his book collection which at the time was thought to be one of the largest in the colony.
