Administrative / Biographical history
Dick Cavill had leases on a number of Brisbane hotels in the early 20th century. He let go of most of these during the depression era except for the Breakfast Creek Hotel which was in his wife, Molly Cavill's name. In the 1940s his daughter Joyce Chandler took over the hotel and later her brother Greg Cavill. Greg started a Spanish garden at the hotel in 1968 serving Mexican food. When that proved unsuccessful, he transformed it into a steakhouse. Greg's son Peter managed the Breakfast Creek Hotel before he and his wife Helen took a lease on the Norman Hotel which they later purchased. The Breakfast Creek Hotel was sold in the 1990s.
