Abstract
Large collection of photographs relating to Queensland railway history. The photographs belonged to three generations of the Walker family: Ross Lewin Blaxland Walker (1860-1944), Harold Walker (1895-1985), and Harold Neville Walker (1925-), who all had significant careers in Queensland railways.
Scope and content

The collection includes photographs of railway construction around Queensland, particularly Greenvale, Goonyella, Toowoomba and Mount Isa. The photograph album contains approximately 100 photographs of railway construction and infrastructure in locations including the Blackall to Windorah line, Willowburn, Townsville and Mackay from about 1901-1931 (OMOSBOX 23692). There are 4 panoramic photographs of the Willowburn Roundhouse and workshops in Toowoomba in 1928 (OMBOX 14502). The slide albums also relate to railway construction, but also include images of the 1974 flood in Mount Isa (OMOSBOXES 23693-23694). The collection also includes a medallion commemorating the official opening of the Acacia Ridge road-rail sea transit facility in 1981, and four boxes of black and white photographs of the construction of railway lines and infrastructure around Queensland from 1954 until about 1990 (OMBOXES 23687-23690).
