The collection relates to the heritage-listed apartment block "Craigston" on Wickham Terrace, Brisbane. Most of the material relates to a major refurbishment and maintenance project which was carried out between 2003 and 2010. The collection includes minutes; guidelines for the management of the building; financial reports; sales brochures; articles regarding the history of the building; and grant applications, strategic plans, reports, photographs, and correspondence relating to the refurbishment and maintenance project. Also included are two works of art by architect and artist, David Phillips. The two pencil drawings are of Craigston, 1994 and the residence "Gooloowan" 43 Quarry Street, Ipswich, 1993.
Craigston is a heritage-listed apartment building located at 217 Wickham, Spring Hill, Brisbane. The eight-storeyed building was designed by architectural firm Atkinson & Conrad and built in 1927 by builder and engineer, Walter Taylor, for a group of Brisbane medical practitioners. It was Brisbane's first multi-storeyed apartment block and the first purpose built medical office block to provide accommodation for its professional tenants. The building has a Spanish Mission style and includes a rooftop garden and viewing tower. It is constructed of rendered brick with a steel-reinforced concrete frame. Craigston was listed on the Queensland Heritage Register in 1992. The property is owned by the company Craigston Pty. Ltd with unit owners as shareholders in the company.
