Correspondence related to the registration of music teachers (1923-1970)
2 folders of papers, mostly correspondence, related to the registration of music teachers in Queensland.
There is a copy of the proposed rules for the registration of teachers, legal advice given in response to the draft, a transcript of public meeting held in 1923 and correspondence from members providing feedback on the proposal to register music teachers in Queensland. There are letters from politicians about the likelihood of proposed legislation being presented to Parliament, and newspaper clippings.
There are also minutes from various sub-committees considering the issue of music teacher registration, and correspondence with associated interest groups.
Much of the this material is addressed to Percy Brier as secretary of the Music Teachers Association.

There are also papers dated from 1950-1981, including:
- a typed obituary for Victoria Blakey who served as Secretary of the Association for over 30 years,
- some completed "Problems of the profession" surveys from members,
- a typed document "Extract from One Hundred Years and More of Music in Queensland" by Percy Brier,
- a typed address that was delivered at the 60th anniversary luncheon of the MTAQ in 1981 by Basil Jones, and
- newspaper clippings.
