Item 77 : Miscellaneous photographs:  Approximately 80 photographs of Maroon Dam, Tibrogargan, Dunwich, Mackay (July 1947), Binna Burra (May 1945), Currumbin, Coolangatta-Tweed and Binna Burra (Easter 1947), O'Reillys Retreat (August 1945), and various holiday locations on the Gold Coast in the 1940s.  There are also a number of photographs of airplanes during the Second World War period (Box 23757 O/S).

Item 78 : New Guinea photographs:  Two albums (approximately 1000 photographs) primarily covering Hugh Pechey’s time in Papua New Guinea (Box 23600 O/S and Box 23601 O/S). Although many of the images relate to Department of Works projects, other photographs show aerial views; landscapes; local people; remote highland and coastal scenery and villages; mission outposts; local people; staff members and staff recreational activities such as hiking, climbing, swimming, shooting and boating; rugby league matches; World War Two wrecks of ships, planes and vehicles; and prominent Papua New Guinean landmarks.

Item 79 : Queensland photographs: Approximately 700 photographs (Box 23601 O/S and Box 23602 O/S) relating to Pechey’s work in Queensland, 1953 to 1962, particularly around Townsville. These photographs show airports; aircraft; military aircraft; runway accidents; construction and worksites; Department of Work staff members and social activities; and rural Queensland towns and scenery. Also included are photographs of damage in Townsville from Cyclone Agnes in 1956; an RACQ Golden Jubilee Children's Day event in 1955; University of Queensland at St Lucia in 1954; and the naturalisation ceremony of a friend in 1955.

Item 80: Negatives

The photographs in this collection are now housed in albums, but were previously housed with the corresponding negatives in small, numbered envelopes. The envelope numbers are pencilled on the back of each photograph therefore the photographs can be matched back to the original negatives. There are prints for most negatives, but not all. Many of the original envelopes of photographs and negatives covering different subject matter were not included in the original donation. The original index was destroyed prior to acquisition, therefore description is minimal.
