Abstract
A.V. Postle & Co. operated as a Queensland hotel and motel broker from the 1930s to 2014. The collection comprises sales brochures, hotel valuations, architectural plans and photographs which document the exteriors and interiors of hotels and motels throughout Queensland, many of which no longer exist due to demolition or destruction by fire.

Administrative / Biographical history

A.V. Postle & Co. was started in January 1936 by Albert Postle, trading in Elizabeth Street, Brisbane. He was joined by his two sons, Gordon and Don, and nephew, Harold Hawes. The firm specialized in hotel brokering, an aspect which grew after the Second World War, as well as all other aspects of real estate, including residential sales. The firm ceased business in 2014.
