Series 1: CLS libraries set up and visits (1970-2009)
Series consists of folders of black and white and colour photographs of the setting up of Country Lending Service libraries around the state of Queensland, and visits of Public Libraries staff during the 1980s-2000's. Public libraries staff would assist with the setting up of new CLS libraries on fieldtrips. Visits and training would take place during the 1980s-2000s.
While the bulk of the photographs cover the dates 1980-2000, there are a few libraries that have set up photographs from 1970, and visitis in 2009.
The folders are in alphabetical order and the Set-up photographs are in one folder and the visits are in folders labelled General. Dates of the range of photographs per folder are recorded.

Series consists of loose photographs of CLS conferences and training sessions given by Public Libraries staff, either at the individual CLS library or onsite at the Public Libraries Division's buildings at Teneriffe in Brisbane (up to 1985) and later at Montague Road, South Brisbane (up to late 2006).
Also in the series are albums or scrapbooks containing:
- collections of brochures and information of the services offered to public libraries across the state of Queensland from the State Library of Queensland.
- cuttings from country newspapers concerning P.L.S and their services from 1975-1978

Country Lending Services Librarian miscellaneous correspondence post Flood (1954; 1974-1991)
Folder includes:
Memos and correspondence to the State Librarian and the Country Extension Service Librarian in the immediate aftermath of the 1974 Floods in Brisbane, during which PLD book stock was destroyed as it was housed in the Grey Street building on the banks of the Brisbane River at South Brisbane.
There is mention of thanks to the Chief Medical Officer and team for arranging tetanus shots for staff; from the Country Lending Services Librarian (Miss Gloria Huish) regarding impacts on service to CLS libraries, as well as condolences from librarians throughout the State, a longer correspondence outlining what benefits would be coming post restoration of the building including the use of the insurance monies to create an automated library management system ORACLE (Online Retrieval of Acquisition, Cataloguing and Circulation detail for Library Enquiry) which will greatly enhance the service.
There is a copy of the Circular sent to the CLS libraries from the Country Extension Service Librarian in the aftermath of the 1974 Floods and notifying them all of the suspension of services.
Another collection of memos and correspondence with the old file number M1599.5 and entitled Public Libraries Service and date from 1974-1976, one memo dated 27.12.1974 outlines the creation of a new Service , the 'Public Libraries Service and outlines their duties and responsibilities and is signed by State Librarian (Lawrie Ryan); copy of a report dated 17 Mar. 1972 to the Minister re: Revised Library Subsidy Proposal for Local Authority Libraries; copies of Book Selection Aid prepared by the Country Extension Service and arranged by Subject area (dated November 1954); a single copy of 'A children's Book List 1957' which was published by the Library Board of Queensland; a page from the Postage and Petty Cash Book dated 21-10-86 giving the postage of parcels to the CLS libraries for October 1986; a copy of the stamps placed on parcels sent via Qld.
