Administrative / Biographical history

Henrietta Clark (originally Clarke), known as Ettie, was one of four daughters of Alexander Henry Clark and Mary Lou (nee Keith). In 1921 Henrietta Clark married the botanist Cyril Tenison White (1890-1950). Henrietta and Cyril shared a love of bushwalking, plants and the outdoors, which is reflected in this collection. Henrietta's sister Lesley Jane Clark worked at the Tosca Studio and was regarded a promising artist. Lesley married Holger (Henry) Nielson Lovf, anglicised Love. They lived at Goodwood Street, Hendra, and are pictured with their son Theodore in the first album in this collection. Holger Nielson Love was a draftsman with the Survey Department and a cartoonist for the Brisbane Courier from 1915 to 1928. The Loves had a second son Alexander Henry Love was born in about 1924.
