Abstract
The collection consists primarily of visual works on paper by McGaffin Design, a Queensland based company, working in commercial signage, industrial products, vehicles, architectural plans and patents.
Scope and content

Includes artist renderings, technical drawings, mock-ups, photographs, and promotional materials for Barnes Neon Signs, JetVac and AquaJet carpet cleaning machines, Dyco hydrastatic drive line markers, and various industrial tools. Also features designs for the Lola T70 racing car, several boats and a hovercraft, architectural plans for commercial and domestic structures, and patents for convertible furniture and a bath tub seat.

Administrative / Biographical history

McGaffin Design was founded in 1970 by Rod and Lynette McGaffin, a married couple originally from New Zealand. The company specialised in industrial and graphic design with Lynette the graphic designer and Rod the industrial designer. Their work was frequently showcased at the Royal Queensland Show in Brisbane.
