This collection consists of twelve drawings by Robert Emerson Curtis. They are as follows: Normal State School, Brisbane pencil, dated 16/5/20. Administrative / Biographical history

During the Second World War, Robert worked as a camouflage officer in Australia and New Guinea, alongside fellow Australian artists William Dobell and Douglas Annand, and from 1943 to 1945 was Official Commonwealth War Artist, recording industrial war-time production. After the war, Robert continued to work as an artist, concentrating on industrial themes, but also painting portraits and landscapes. He died in 1996.
