Each year the Association holds various fundraising activities, such as the State Cookery Contest which was started in 1959, and the Knitting and Crochet competition which started in 1969. Money raised through the fundraising activities of the Association is used for such purposes as awarding bursaries to primary, secondary and tertiary students; setting up tea- or rest-rooms in hospitals; and debt-reduction on, or refurbishment of, QCWA properties.
