Abstract
A collection of audio tapes and transcripts in relation to the Centenary Estates project by L.J. Hooker. Centenary Estates refers to the large, master-planned development in Brisbane's western suburbs, initiated in 1959 for Queensland's centenary, encompassing suburbs like Jindalee, Jamboree Heights, Mount Ommaney, Riverhills, Westlake, Middle Park, and Sumner, featuring integrated residential, commercial, and industrial areas with significant river frontage and modern amenities. This ambitious project by Hooker Corporation created self-sufficient communities with schools, shopping, parks, and a new highway/bridge system (Centenary Highway & Bridge) for connectivity to the city.
