Scope and content
The papers include three typescripts on the history of the 2/9 Battalion during World War Two, written by Allen Elliot: 'A Battalion Formed: A Legend Created', 'The Buna Campaign' and 'To Sanananda..'. The first and final copies of a manuscript by Mary Boer (or Baer) detail an overland journey between Croydon and Bowen that she undertook at 19 years old with her father in 1897. The papers also include a cutting book with articles on the Torres Strait and a newspaper clipping on Frank Jardine.
