On International Woman's Day in 1991, a group of Wynnum-Manly singers and musicians performed a musical 'The Ballad of Women' which was originally written by Nancy Wills and Dorothy Hewitt for International Women's Day in 1962. The 'Ballad of Women' stimulated considerable debate about the needs and aspirations of women.
