The oral history covers: training at Wilsons Promontory in Victoria; being stationed in Townsville, Moresby, Cape India Dare, Kalinga and the Jungle Warfare Training School at Canungra; fighting the Japanese in Kiapit; joining and serving with the Far East Liason Office in Brisbane; Kirkston house in Windsor which served as F.E.L.O.'s original headquarters; his wife Joyce and the Papua New Guinean locals.

The oral history covers: her brother and sister serving overseas; the home front; working as a tram conductress; conflict between returning Australian soldiers and American soldiers; African-American soldiers; rations; stockings; her husband Bill Klotz; weddings; Kamikaze pilots; death of her brother Geoffrey Clive Reeve who served aboard HMAS Australia (II) when it was damaged by Japanese kamikaze aircraft in the Lingayen Gulf; families struggling to adapt after the end of the War.
