A collection of the personal papers and manuscripts of Rosa Caroline Praed, comprising correspondence, press cuttings, royalty statements, notebooks, diaries, and legal documents. The collection also includes the manuscript for the book "Soul of Nyria".

Administrative / Biographical history

Rosa began her writing career in her teens and continued in England, producing over 45 books over the next forty years. In the 1890s, she became estranged from her husband and separated from him in 1897, at which time she began living with companion Nancy Hayward, a psychic medium. Rosa revisited Australia once in 1894-1895, but maintained contact with relatives and friends throughout her life. Rosa died in Torquay, Devon on 10 April 1935.
