His Excellency the Governor presents a copy of a circular minute sent by Sir Alexander Stuart, then Premier of New South Wales, to all Australian colonies recommending the establishment of a ”generalised Quarantine establishment” for the Australian colonies.

An additional letter from the NSW Premier was tabled, recommending that Joseph Bancroft be appointed as the delegate from Queensland at a conference in Sydney on 14 September to discuss the quarantine proposal.

Mention of smallpox, yellow fever, cholera, plague, typhus, leprosy, diphtheria, scarlett fever, measles. They include a diagram, untitled, possibly relating to a design for a disinfection chamber.
