Handwritten extract from the minutes of Proceedings of the Executive Council of Queensland, held at Government House, Brisbane 7 August 1884.

His Excellency the Governor presents a copy of a circular minute sent by Sir Alexander Stuart, then Premier of New South Wales, to all Australian colonies recommending the establishment of a ”generalised Quarantine establishment” for the Australian colonies.

An additional letter from the NSW Premier was tabled, recommending that Joseph Bancroft be appointed as the delegate from Queensland at a conference in Sydney on 14 September to discuss the quarantine proposal.
