Abstract
Letters, postcards, invitations, and telegrams written by members of the Adam family and friends during the First World War.
Scope and content
This collection consists of letters, postcards, invitations, and telegrams written by members of the Adam family and friends principally during the First World War. Many of the letters are between Jane Adam, her husband Jack and and sons Willie, Douglas and Jack Adam. Much of the correspondence shows how warmly Jane was regarded, her nephews referred to her as 'mother'; also included are many items of condolence received after the deaths of her sons Willie and Douglas who died while serving on Gallipoli, including one from the commanding officer 2nd Light Horse Regiment, Colonel Stodart.
