Records of the Brisbane Wool Selling Brokers' Association and Livestock Agents' Association, comprising minutes of meetings relating to wool (1893-1981) and stock sales (1899-1981). At a meeting of Brisbane Stock and Station Agents held in the Metropolitan Hotel, Edward Street, on the 15th Apr 1898, the first definite steps were taken to establish a wool selling centre in Brisbane and on 12th Sep, 1898, as a sequel, the Brisbane Wool Selling Brokers' Association was formally constituted, when rules were adopted by the original members of the Association viz. Fenwick & Company, Dalgety & Company, Union Mortgage and Agency Company of Australia Limited, B.D. Morehead & Company and Thomas Noyes & Company. During the first six years, meetings of the Association were presided over by members in rotation with the first President for a fixed term appointed on 17th Oct 1904.
