On the reverse of the card: "Dear [...] I am home on my final leave now I expect to sail within a fortnight I been waiting for an answer from you, but I guess your letter has gone astray. Things are awful quiet here. I am having a very quite time here. I will write to you when I get back, I am awful sorry I never saw you. Frank came up & saw me on Sunday but am going to sneak another day. Goodbye old girl well best love, from Harold"
