Ivan Lefroy Loveday correspondence

This single-item series consists of a diary kept by Ivan Loveday from his entry into camp at Enoggera in August 1916, training at the barracks, the voyage on board the troopship 'Demosthenes' from Sydney and their stopover in Cape Town. The diary ends, 22 January 1917.

This series contains letters and cards written by Ivan Loveday, to his parents Charles and Maude in Gympie from Maranthona Station where he was working, and later from Enoggera Barracks, Brisbane where he is undergoing training prior to embarking for active service in England and France. Also included is an extract from a letter written by C. Chippendall describing the conditions surrounding Eric Loveday's death, who was killed in action 4 September 1916.

This series contains letters and cards written by Ivan Loveday on board the troopship 'Demosthenes' bound for England with the 47th Infantry Battalion reinforcements. After arriving in England they underwent further training at Codford Camp before embarking for France in October 1917.
