Series 1: Manuscripts (1915-1959)
The bulk of the collection, much of which is dated 1915, is comprised of handwritten manuscript notes by Herbert Victor Walker which includes much material on the German Aboriginal Mission at Nundah, John Dunmore Lang, Richard Bingham Sherridan, early settlement and churches in the Moreton Bay area.

Series 3: Diary (1844-1860)
Diary of George Edward Walker which contains a significant narrative written by Walker who was born in Yorkshire and came to Australia in 1848 with his wife Mary Jane Johnson.
The journal begins with a chronology of his life; meeting his future wife; life in Brisbane in the early 1850s through to 1854; his appointment as tutor at the German Mission. There are many gaps and several pages of entries for 1860, along with religious notes, accounts, recipes [receipts] and prose.
