This series contains an indexed letter book, and loose correspondence relating to various Queensland properties, many associated with Thomas Holt, his son Frederick S E Holt, Peter McIntosh, Alfred Wilmington, Edward Joy and William Tooth.

The properties named in the correspondence include: Banchory, Chatsworth, Strathfield and Wealwandangie Station.

The letterbook from the offices of George F Want, not only shows property improvements and figures relating to sheep numbers (ewes, rams, lambs), it also contains detailed reports relating to the following pastoral stations:
Anamgon, Bogandene, Bungaboan, Bella Bella, Banana, Cagildry Lower, Guningbar, Hardens, May Downs, Surbiton, Springsure, Retro, Ruthven (Isis Downs), Ravensbourne, Tabraton, Toolamang, Wolfang, Wigton, Woodhouse, Wanoo and Windyer Stations. The reports describe the location of the properties, the size of the runs, type of soil and vegetation and, availability of water.

Biographical history
George Frederick Want (1841-1910), was a stock and station agent in the 1860s and 1870s who in partnership with Robert Percy Simpson, inspected and prepared reports on pastoral stations and their management. The reports would include stock or produce at hand, for sale or shipment.
