Studio portrait of Glanville Rolls with five fellow soldiers, sent to his family as a postcard. The message on the reverse reads:
Ezbekiah Gardens, 19th Feb. 1916. 2 all at Home, We met Jock Angus the other day, he is camped not far from our camp. He has been to the front and is spelling now. We thought it nice to get taken together to send home so I suppose it will appear on the films at the Pictures. I think you will agree that this life has not done us any harm so far. One of Jock Angus’ mates who returned yesterday from England says that the feneral opinion there is that we will all be home in six months time [illegible] boys have been quarantined [illegible] at Suez on account of diphtheria. Best Wishes from Glan.

Photographic postcard sent from Cairo by Glanville Rolls to his sister Flo, 19 February 1916. The photograph features Glanville and his mates, including Jock Angus of the Light Horse. The message reads:
Cairo Egypt, 19/2/16. Dear Flo, I last wrote to you about 3 weeks ago. Am expecting a letter any day. Heard from Nell yesterday they are all well at home & cousin Mary is up for a trip. Do you think we are any thiner than we were. How are all the Sydney folk. The other boys are my mates, and the Light Hose chap is Jock Angus who we had not seen for a couple of years. We expect to be leaving here shortly. So good bye for the present. From your loving brother xx. Glan Rolls.
