Letters, postcards, greeting cards and a diary belonging to brothers William and Benjamin Ingham from Toowoomba, Queensland, who wrote home to their parents from active service during the First World War.

Toowoomba brothers William and Benjamin Ingham were both bakers when they enlisted in 1915 and embarked for the active service with the First AIF. William enlisted aged 21 on 1 April 1915 as part of the 7th Reinforcement, 9th Battalion, then was transferred to 49th Battalion. Benjamin enlisted on 10 September 1915 with 15th Battalion, 14th Reinforcement and was transferred to 47th Battalion. William died of shrapnel wounds in France on 1 February 1917 and was buried at Dernancourt. Benjamin suffered shell shock and returned home on 13 February 1917.
