The flap is printed in large green letters with 'The Aussie Wallet', below this, smaller lettering reads 'XMAS WISHES FROM AUSTRALIAN Y.M.C.A. 1918'. It most likely originally contained a yellow cardboard ration book and a red gift diary for 1919, published by the Australian Comforts Fund, also held in this collection.

Plain white china feeding cup, with handle and long pouring spout at right angles to each other. The cover has a Red Cross logo painted on it. The rim and mouth of the spout is decorated with a narrow gold border. This cup is believed to have been in the possession of Mrs Margaret Campbell, who assisted the Australian Red Cross Society during World War 1.

Between the wreaths are the words 'TO THE WOMEN OF AUSTRALIA'. The reverse bears an impressed serial number 'N28179'. It is further marked 'ISSUED BY THE CWLTH GOVT G & E RODD 1940'.

A blue enamelled oval badge with the voided letters 'AIF'. The oval contains the words 'ISSUED BY DEPT OF DEFENCE TO WOMEN OF AUSTRALIA'. An enamelled scroll beneath this contains the words 'FOR DUTY DONE'. The badge is surmounted with a King's Crown and has a pin fastening on the back. The reverse is stamped with the maker's details and the number '136558'.
The Female Relative's Badge was issued to the wife and/or mother, or to the nearest female relative of, soldiers, nurses and masseurs who had left Australia for active service abroad during the First World War. This badge would have been associated with Mrs Margaret Campbell, whose son Hugh served with the 11th Field Company Engineers 1916-1919.

The Victory Medal that was awarded to Lieutenant H. Campbell, A.I.F. One side is inscribed 'The Great War for Civilisation 1914-1919', the reverse depicts the winged figure of Victory. It is accompanied by the original ribbon of a 'two rainbow' design. The medal is impressed around the edge with Hugh Campbell's name.

British War Medal (1920)
The British War Medal that was awarded to Lieutenant H. Campbell, A.I.F. It was instituted by King George V in 1919 to mark the end of World War I and record the service given. The reverse side has an image of St George on horseback trampling underfoot the eagle shield of the Central Powers, and a skull and cross-bones, the emblems of death. The obverse shows an effigy of George V. It is impressed around the edge with Hugh Campbell's name. The medal is accompanied by the original ribbon of blue black, white and orange stripes.

Souvenired fragment of Zeppelin L33 that crash landed at New Hall Farm, Little Wigborough, in Essex on 24 September 1916. The German crew of L33 survived and became prisoners of war. The item is an 'L' shaped piece of aluminium alloy riveted together. Attached is a cardboard label which describes the dimensions of the Zepplin as: length 450 feet, breadth 50 feet, height 80 feet.

Tin folding cup with cover & fold out handle, patented & dated Oct. 8, 1912. It measures 2.5" bottom diameter & 2.25" top diameter X 2.75" tall when opened. The item has 4 concentric ring sections that open out on each other to form the cup.
The bottom of cup is stamped "Patented Hero Trade Mark Oct. 8, 1912, and the cover is embossed with a German 'Iron' cross.

Launched in October 1943, Parkes was one of sixty minesweepers build during World War II. It was commissioned in May 1944, commanded by Lieutenant Commander Norris O. Vidgen and escorted convoys between Thursday Island and Darwin. Later the ship visited Dutch New Guinea and Timor. It was decommissioned in 1945 at Fremantle.
