An intertitle 'Easter Sunday picnic' is followed by footage of a family having a picnic alongside their cars on the waterfront.
This is followed by footage of a Queenslander house at 387 Ipswich Road, Annerley (the Neil family house); a table laid for a birthday dinner; a lady crocheting; crowds gathered on both sides of the Brisbane River to watch a large ship being launched at South Brisbane Dry Dock; a brief scene of the Olympic torch relay (1956); sailing boats on the Brisbane River; a new Ford Prefect car in a driveway; a fish tank; the Royal Queensland Show (the Ekka); neon signs in Brisbane City; a diesel locomotive (1208) and a train ride; a rooster in a backyard; and a lake with a lot of bird-life.

Mackay and Whitsunday Passage (1954-1959)
Home movie of Mackay and a trip to Lindeman Island and the Whitsunday Passage.
The footage shows buildings and streets scenes in Mackay including Customs House and Post Office buildings and a number of churches followed by views of the town from afar and neon signs.
The remainder of the footage shows the visit to Lindeman Island including the boat trip to the island; the resort accommodation; views of the island ; and footage of the activities undertaken including hiking, boating, trips to the Great Barrier Reef and other islands.
The movie closes with scenes of an ANA plane on the tarmac and aerial footage from the plane of the flight home.

Queensland Centenary; Warwick Rodeo (1959)
This item contains two home movies.
The first, titled 'Queensland Centenary 1959' shows various events relating to the centenary. The footage begins with scenes of the centenary parade including floats and crowds, followed by footage of the Story Bridge illuminated at night; the Royal Progress down the Brisbane River featuring the yacht 'Valiant'; the royal motorcade passing along Brisbane streets and Princess Alexandria waving to school children as she passes; and another parade showing floats and crowds.

This series mostly contains a collection of slides taken by Gilbert Neil showing the life of the Neil family including:

- honeymoon of Gilbert and Everil Neil on Lindeman Island, May 1962.
- buildings and bridges illuminated with coloured lights and crowds for a royal visit. One slide is described as being for the Queensland Mother's visit in1958.
- various cars and buildings.
- an Australia Day parade.
- buildings in Wynnum.
- the Big Cow and the Big Pineapple.

Series 3: Photographs and postcards (1890-1954?)
This series contains historic photographs connected to the Neil and Heideman families as well as the related Lemon, Welch and Dickinson families. Some of the photographs were taken by Gilbert Neil.

This item contains various certificates and invitations:
- certificate from the City of Cairns, Queensland on the Cairns and District Centenary 1976 thanking G.R.W. Neil for his contribution towards funding the event.
- invitation to Mr and Mrs G.R. Neil to attend a church service to inaugurate Apprenticeship Week, St. Stephen's Cathedral, Brisbane, 1973.
- invitation to the wedding and reception of Everil Dawn Heideman to Gilbert Roy William Neil, Church of England Grammar School Chapel, East Brisbane, 1962.
- certificate recognising the service of Lt Reginald O Heideman (Q27637) of the 61st Australian Infantry Battalion and details of the inscription to be carved on a plaque and mounted to the National Freedom Wall, ca. 1996. Inscription: Lt Reginald O Heideman Q27637 61st Aust. Inf. Bn. served on continuous full time service in the A.M.F. from 20/5/1939 to 14/2/1946 for a total effective period of 1825 days which included active service in Australia for 1125 days and outside Australia in New Guinea for 700 days.
- award certificate for a citation awarded to D. Heideman for loyal distinguished volunteer service with the American Red Cross in the South-West Pacific.

This series contains flags and bunting hung from the Neil family house at 387 Ipswich Road to greet Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and her husband Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, as they passed by during the 1954 Royal Visit.
Australian and UK flags are included as well as flags containing Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and family members.
