Administrative / Biographical history

The Queensland Country Women's Association (QCWA) was established in 1922. It is a non-party political and non-sectarian organisation and is affiliated with the Country Women's Association of Australia at a national level, and with the Associated Country Women of the World at an international level.Their role is to improve and enrich the lives of women and children, particularly in isolated areas of Queensland. Individual branches are spread throughout the state. They hold various fund-raising activities to support a variety of local activities. (Association's website, viewed Feb. 2023).
