Cash book or bookeeping journal of wages, expenses, and taxes. It also contains many loose pages & receipts. Several letters relating to Unemployment Relief Tax addressed to W L Palmes, Glandore, from the 1930s. It also relates Camboon and Hainault Stations, and a property on Townshend Island.

Series 2: Diaries (1895-1910)
This series of diaries kept by Brian William Palmes offers a detailed account of pioneering life in the Burnett region, surveying and fencing property, erecting accomodation, managing stock and describing climate conditions.
Biographical information
Bryan William Palmes was born in Hornsea, Yorkshire, in 1855 and was apprenticed in the merchant navy at the age of 16, for four years, serving on the ship "Goolwa" in 1874 later on the Royal Mail ship "Zealandia" travelling on her maiden voyage from England to Sydney. Palmes eventually settled in Queensland, owning several pastoral properties including Cracow Station and later Hainault Station in the Burnett region, he married Ellen Lawless in 1885 in Queensland. Their two sons served during World War I with the youngest, Bryan, killed in action in 1917. Palmes sold Hainault Station in 1927 and moved to Ewey Bay in Sydney, and died on 19 June 1946.

The entries offer a detailed account of pioneering life in the Burnett region, surveying, building accomodation, managing stock, branding, mustering and growing their own food. They also describe those who worked on and visited the properties. Included in the diary is a letter to Bryan Palmes from his brother Arthur Lindsay Palmes (1853-1945) giving news of the passing of Arthur's wife Blase [?] in 1941.

This series consists of handwritten notes, copied letters, reminiscences, and newspaper clippings, made and collected by Edmond Morey (1826-1913).
Biographical information
Edmund Morey established Euston Station with Thomas Sutcliffe Morte. He also purchased Mitchell Downs Station and during the drought of 1868 was declared bankrupt. In 1871 Morey was appointed Police Magistrate for Banana, and later Cairns, Clermont, Charters Towers, Townsville and Maryborough, where he retired in 1902, and died in 1913, his second wife Sarah died a year later.
