Cash book or bookeeping journal of wages, expenses, and taxes. It also contains many loose pages & receipts. Several letters relating to Unemployment Relief Tax addressed to W L Palmes, Glandore, from the 1930s. It also relates Camboon and Hainault Stations, and a property on Townshend Island.

Journal listing sale of cattle, date of branding, gender and who they were sold to. Listed in the rear of the item are bloodlines for bulls purchased from: Hawkwood Station in 1892; Culgraigie in 1894; and Murray in 1898.

Included in the diary is a letter to Bryan Palmes from his brother Arthur Lindsay Palmes (1853-1945) giving news of the passing of Arthur's wife Blase [?] in 1941.

Original butchers shop and store at Taromeo, erected in 1856, built of granite blocks & shingle roof. The shingles were afterwards covered with galvanized corrugated iron. Building still stands. Recently repaired. (Description supplied with photograph).
